In this article, I have chosen to present you an English beauty that is rare to meet in the street. Not just any car since it is the most extreme model that the brand offered at the time!
I'm a lover of the brand, I really like the combination of elegance and sporty English style, a pure and sporty side at the same time.
Do you know what the acronym DB means at Aston Martin?

Underneath the letters DB is a symbolic name for the brand: David Brown.
On October 1, 1946, the Times published on its front page the announcement that Aston Martin was up for sale. In 1947, for the sum of £20,000, an heir to an industrial group specializing in the manufacture of agricultural tractors, David Brown bought the Aston Martin company from Lionel Martin. And it is this man who relaunched the brand by taking inspiration from Italian cars and taking the 6-cylinder as a basis! At first the DB1 limited to 15 copies then other models arrived.

The one that all car and movie lovers remember starts with DB but followed by 5. A nugget that, well equipped, appears as THE car of the agent 007 played by Sean Connery and seen by the whole world.
The DB6 follows the glorious past of Aston Martin in competition: victory in the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1959, 24 hours of Spa in the same year and a title of World Champion of sports cars. Aston Martin became the British equal of Ferrari in Grand Tourism.
But this DB6 is also the ultimate DB signed by David Brown, who will sell the company in 1972.

Mechanical part, the DB6 takes some features of the DB5: a slight evolution of the front, a modification of the rear (more modern) inspired by the aerodynamic progress of the brand at Le Mans on the Projects 212 and 214 and the engine.

The DB6 offers 286 hp and a torque of 391Nm at 3850 rpm. With its 1.5t empty weight, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3s! Quite a performance for the time.
But in this article we are talking about the DB6 Vantage, the most extreme version offered by Aston Martin. The inline 6-cylinder engine designed by the Polish engineer Tadek Marek now develops 325 hp! An engine that many brands envy the British manufacturer.

The body panels of this car are made of aluminum; the front axle is composed of independent wheels with superimposed triangles and anti-roll bars; the rear shock absorbers allow four different settings to make the handling optimal and to everyone's taste according to the type of road, and even disc brakes! A car that develops more the Gran Turismo aspect than the pure and hard sport.

2000 Aston Martin DB6 were produced from 1965 to 1970, and the Vantage version is the rarest on the market: the models with the original left-hand steering wheel are 149!
This model is really beautiful, and this one is in exceptional condition.
You have probably already seen the DB6 in the movies, if I tell you Happy Pastis, Pastis with Blue Waters? And yes the DB6 is the car of the surgeon played by G.Lanvin in Camping 1.

Today, owning an Aston Martin DB6 Vantage is not an easy task because it is expensive: more than 400 000 euros!
