Today's article is about a great classic of the beginning of the 21st century from the prancing horse brand.

Purists and car enthusiasts love to contemplate its line and listen to the sweet melody of its V8, I named the Ferrari 430:

The F430 was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2004 and was sold until 2009. It is a hit! From its appearance, we can say that it has a great look. It is the successor of the F360 Modena, with the collaboration between Pininfarina and Frank Stephenson a monumental progress in aerodynamics was made.

This car combines elegance and performance, a pure and sporty line that is closer to racing than its predecessor.

In Maranello, the fact that the competition was developing more and more powerful and sophisticated cars led them to develop their reference model: the F360 Modena.

A more beautiful, more powerful, more modern car, worthy of replacing its big sister.

Look at this masterpiece.

The F430 is powered by the brand's new 4.3L V8 (3.6L on the 360 Modena) developing 490 hp at 8,500 rpm and 465 Nm of torque at 5,250 rpm. Weighing 1.4 t, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4s and climbs to 315 km/h. The aluminum mechanical base mounted on the F430 and reworked in Maranello is none other than the one used by Maserati on the 4200GT!

This superb engine can be seen through the glass in the hood. Compared to the 360 Modena, a gain of 90hp and 100Nm of torque is counted.

On this car, the aerodynamics has been reworked, we find air intakes reminiscent of those on the Scuderia's 1961 single-seater (the year Phil Hill won the World Championship) allowing the cooling of the two radiators; extractors as well as a small spoiler at the rear that allow to generate a significant aerodynamic support at 200km/h. To recall one of the fastest cars in the world at the time, Ferrari decided to use rear lights inspired by the Ferrari Enzo.

A cream colored F430 Spider, the owner said it belonged to Mr. Schumacher, was it true?

This Ferrari was, as mentioned above, more sophisticated than the 360 Modena: it has driving aids, a selection of driving modes depending on the use (softening of the dampers, gear shift time: 20 or 15 thousandths of a second in Sport or Race mode, etc.). Technologies directly derived from F1!

As you can see on the pictures, there was also a spider version. This version was available with a 6 speed manual gearbox or F1 gearbox. Its weight is also higher by 70kg mainly due to the soft top opening mechanism controlled by 7 electro-hydraulic motors. The spoiler present on the Spider is higher because the absence of a hardtop has a huge impact on the aerodynamics of the car. This spoiler allows to compensate this loss of support and to restore the aerodynamic load of 110 kilos at 200km/h.

Respectively F430 and F430 Scuderia

The F430 does not let itself go on the track! Compared to its rival the Lamborghini Gallardo, it accelerates harder, goes faster, grips the corners much better and brakes harder! Carbon-ceramic brakes are available as an option (within 11,500 euros).

But in 2007, Maranello wants to present THE replacement of the F360 Challenge Stradale: The F430 Scuderia.

The intake has been fitted with a carbon manifold and air filter. The V8 now delivers 510 hp at 8500 rpm (20 more than the F430) and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4s! An engine that they chose to couple with a robotized F1 gearbox, carbon at gogo.... you will have understood it a monster!

Regarding the price of these two models, you will have to save around 150,000 euros for the F430 and almost double that for the Scuderia version.
