But what is this model that car lovers dream of seeing?
It is indeed this work signed by the prancing horse that we are going to talk about through this article.

It is in homage to the competitive past of barchettas that Ferrari presents us with two models of the Monza SP range in 2018. The name barchetta (which means small boat in Italian) comes from journalist Giovanni Canestrini who during the race participation said "This is not a car, it's a barchetta!". To put it simply, a barchetta is a car similar to a spider, without a roof, and one or more small screens instead of a full windscreen.
Indeed, an exceptional record of achievement for Ferrari in 1949 with the 166 MM: with notably the 24h of Le Mans (L.Chinetti and L.Selsdon) and the 24h of Spa (L.Chinetti and J.Lucas). In spite of the crazy competition of the time, Ferrari won the 24h of Le Mans 6 times between 1949 and 1962 as well as the Manufacturers' Championship 7 times between 1953 and 1961! You will have understood a legendary record for the Italian manufacturer.

It was in 2018 that Ferrari unveiled two barchetta models at the Paris Motor Show. The concept car belonging to the Icona range pays tribute to the models of the 1950s: the 166 MM, and the 750 and 860 Monza. The models presented under the names SP1 and SP2 Monza will be produced in 499 units! SP for Special Project and the number that follows the number of seats: Ferrari has developed a car with a racing soul combining technology and absolute comfort. In 2019, the SP2 is elected Most Beautiful Supercar of the Year 2018 at the 34th International Automobile Festival.

As far as the engine is concerned, the SP is equipped with the most powerful V12 engine ever to come out of the doors of Maranello: a 6.5L V12 of 810 hp releasing 719 Nm at 7000 rpm inspired by the 812 Superfast and promising a 0-100 km/h in 2.9s and a top speed close to 300 km/h (hair in the wind)! An engine and a comfort conferring a mass with no load of 1.5t.

A supercar that asked 1.7 million euros when it was first released to acquire it. Today the price has risen and prices can reach up to 4 million euros!
